Canvas Canvas Outage

Instructure is experiencing an issue affecting the platform, beginning around 1:40pm. Users are currently unable to access Canvas. Instructure is working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

Canvas Service Restored

Canvas access has been restored for OSU users following the outage involving Instructure, the vendor that operates Canvas. Users should now be able to log in and resume normal activity.

We have taken steps to validate the stability and security of the platform prior to restoring access. OSU will continue to monitor for any potential issues and remain vigilant as more information becomes available.

If you experience any problems accessing Canvas, please contact the Service Desk at beav.es/help or by calling 541‑737‑8787.

Canvas access will be restored for the OSU community by 4 PM. Users will be able to log in and resume activity as usual.

As of 8:17pm, Instructure is reporting restoration of Canvas services. However, OSU is evaluating system stability, and OSU users remain unable to access Canvas at this time. We will provide another update in the morning of Friday, 5/8/2026.

Instructure posted a new update on their status page, https://status.instructure.com: Instructure has placed Canvas, Canvas Beta and Canvas Test in maintenance mode. We anticipate being up soon, and will provide updates as soon as possible.

Banner Banner Maintenance, Saturday April 25, 5 am to 5 pm

University Information and Technology will be applying necessary quarterly upgrades to Banner on Saturday, April 25th, between 5 am and 5 pm. Banner and many related administrative OSU systems will be unavailable or have limited functionality during this window.

What systems are affected?
Administrative systems such as Banner, Online Services, AWA, and Degree Works may be affected and access to these systems will be interrupted during the maintenance window. The list of affected services includes: Academic Catalog (CAT); AWA; Banner; Banner Self-Service (Online Services); Banner Workflow; BeaverHub; Benny Hire; Benny Buy; Canvas (Some administrative functions not available); Clean Address; Curriculum Inventory Management (CIM); Degree Works (MyDegrees); EvalS; FormFusion; MyOregonState (some links will be unavailable); OSU Mobile (some data will be unavailable); Schedule of Classes (New Scheduler); TouchNet (will accept payments, however, payments will not be posted until Banner returns to service); Applications that use API calls to obtain data from Banner will be unable to retrieve data during maintenance.

Office 365 Copilot Partial Outage

We are seeing some issues with Copilot not responding today. Microsoft has confirmed the issue and is investigating.

Scholarship/OSUF Reimbursements and Grants Reconciliation Maintenance for GRRS — Tuesday, April 7, 2026, 5:00–11:00 pm PT

GRRS is undergoing maintenance and is completely unavailable during the maintenance window.

CORE Reporting Maintenance for CORE, GRS, GRRS, and Jaspersoft — Tuesday, April 7, 2026, 5:00–11:00 pm PT

CORE, GRS, GRRS, Jaspersoft, and related systems are undergoing maintenance and are completely unavailable during the maintenance window.

Zoom Zoom Rooms experiencing issues connecting to Microsoft Teams

Zoom is experiencing an issue preventing users from merging Zoom Rooms with Microsoft Teams meetings. Zoom has identified the issue and is working on a resolution. For more information about this incident, visit www.zoomstatus.com.

We are aware of an issue affecting the OSU Events Calendar (events.oregonstate.edu) starting at approximately 10:00am. We are working with the vendor to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Office 365 Microsoft 365 Service Degradation

We are currently monitoring Microsoft’s service status as reported on the official Microsoft Service Health Status page: https://status.cloud.microsoft/.

If you are experiencing issues with Microsoft services such as Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, or Azure, please check the Microsoft status page for the most up‑to‑date information. Any outages or disruptions reported by Microsoft may impact OSU IT services. This includes sending and receiving email through Exchange Online.

We will continue to monitor Microsoft’s updates. If you experience issues accessing Microsoft 365 apps or files, please reach out to the Service Desk.

Office 365 Microsoft 365 Service Interruption

Microsoft has reported a service interruption affecting several Microsoft 365 tools earlier today, including OneDrive and SharePoint. According to Microsoft’s latest service health updates, the underlying issue has been resolved, but some users may continue to experience intermittent performance problems as services fully stabilize. We will continue to monitor Microsoft’s updates and any user‑reported impacts. If you continue to experience issues accessing Microsoft 365 apps or files, please reach out to the Service Desk.

We are aware of an issue with Beaver Hub login on Saturday 1/17/2026 between about 7pm and 10pm Pacific Time. This issue has been resolved by the vendor now.
